Proactive system management on critical components.

A server crash would have meant the irrevocable loss of critical business data. We monitor the critical functions of the server such as CPU, memory, and disk usage and issue quarterly reports to the managers. We know way ahead of time if any trouble is brewing.

Proven track record of 97% system uptime.

The uptime on their server was pretty good but, the laptop connectivity and print server performance was not. We switched out some of their networking appliances for more stable products and employees not longer have frustrating database disconnects and failed print jobs.

Strategic planning

The office manager was on his own when choosing a new laptop or other product to meet ever-expanding business needs such as additional users, VPN access, and branch offices. We were able to provide advice and installation on products which are robust enough to provide reliable service and to meet their needs for years to come.

Flexible services

They mostly relied on part-time, in-house expertise which is very flexible and affordable but, generally, not strategic or scalable. We spent a lot of time with them for a while getting their systems straightened out. Now, we don't hear from them unless there's a new user to configure or a new business need to be met!

The remote access to files and databases was unstable and severely limited by the retail-grade network hardware initially installed. When they wanted their branch offices and remote employees to be able to access their database app and files remotely we were ready to implement using our tested, standardized solution.

Business Continuity & Disaster-Recovery Planning

Their backups were not occurring on a regular schedule or were failing regularly. Their server is backed up daily and the media is removed off-site. In this way they are insulated from a physical or technical disaster which could otherwise permanently damage their business.

We implement IT industry "Best Practices"

They were using retail-grade networking hardware which was unreliable, slow, and frustrating. We installed more robust, but still affordable appliances which run for weeks with no user intervention necessary.
We also make sure backups are happening consistently every day.

Regular security audits.

Updates and security checks happened when someone 'had time'. Some of their workstations were infected with viruses and spyware. We check on their virus updates, and hardware and software are patched regularly. In addition, CNC produces a quarterly report which outlines security holes blocked and future patch cycles.

Bottom-Line Results

Network outages, server slowdowns, laptop file system problems, and printing problems were slowing their associates down. Each associate is up-and-running all day long and is able to do their vital work without interruption! They are also able to access their data from any location.
